Hello, I’m Nicolene!

I’m a registered nurse with a Midwifery, Psychiatry, Community, and General diploma. I did four years of training at Groote Schuur Hospital in Cape Town, where I fell in love with Paediatrics. I took my first steps in my wonderful nursing career at The Red Cross Children’s Hospital in Rondebosch, for who I have a very soft spot.

I ventured across the pond for more experience and became an agency nurse within Paediatric units throughout London. I found a full-time position at Royal Brompton Hospital where I specialised in Paediatrics and soon got promoted to Educator. From here my passion grew as an educator, and my dream was to help new parents became a reality.

On our return from London, we took our young family to the most beautiful and tranquil area of Hermanus in the Western Cape province of South Africa.

As a mother of two beautiful girls, I understand the challenges of parenthood, and I know there is nothing more important than appropriate support. I would love to share my accumulated knowledge of the past 20+ years and support expecting and new parents in their journey to parenthood, especially here in the Hermanus area.

I have a particular interest in newborn babies and breastfeeding support. Much-needed support and education can make such a big difference in your experience from pregnancy to becoming a first-time parent.
